FRESH GAME STRAIGHT FROM THE FINNISH NATURE
Viltgården sells game in Inkoo, on Marieberg farm which was established in the 19th century. The lands used to be farmed and grazed by cattle, but today they act as grazing lands for game, something that also drives the rest of the farming operations.
Viltgården was established in 2013 by Tomas Landers, whose family has been in charge of the farm for generations. Because the Landers family knows how to make use of what nature has to offer, they decided to start offering high-quality game and crayfish to others as well. Today the company sells wild game meat to private customers as well as to retailers.
Matti Korhonen is in charge of the everyday activities at Viltgården. Peter Vamosi helps out, with tasks including meat processing. We all have a strong background in hunting, and thanks to Viltgården, our hobby has become our job.
Matti has a solid background in the sustainable use of natural resources and sustainable development, stemming from his studies as well as from earlier tasks. Using game is a natural continuum, since meat from game populations that are tended to according to natural terms is a sustainable choice.
Our main products include Finnish elk, white-tailed deer, Finnish forest reindeer and mufflon meat, and we also offer Finnish crayfish when in season. All our meat comes from game that has been hunted according to sustainable principles. The meat is cut and packed in a game processing facility that has been approved by the Finnish national food administration, Evira. The meat is always checked by a veterinarian.
Through Foodhub we want to take part in the unpredjudiced development of new service models that will enable as many people as possible to attain high-quality produce directly from the food producers. And first and foremost, we want to further promote the selection of ecologically sustainable Finnish meat.
